This is the 1st Annual ASEAN Conference on Education held by FITK UIN Malang. The aim of the conference is to provide an opportunity for academicians and professionals from various educational fields with cross-disciplinary interests to bridge the knowledge gap, promote research esteem and the evolution of education in South East Asia (SEA), a region covering 4.875.068 sq km. 

 

SEA region offers a wide range of diversity in terms term of geography, culture and level of socio-economic development. Southeast Asia is a region covering 4.875.068 sq km which consist of 3,209.506 sq km land and the rest, 1,665,562 sq km is water. It has ten member countries (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam), with a combined total population of around 540 million. The number of population varies from the fourth world populous country like Indonesia with 238 million people to the least populace country like Brunei Darussalam (365,251, July 2004 est.).
